NARRATIVE Prolific late summer bloomer. Grows under trees in bright light. Fall color of leaves is dark green tinged with dark red. Dies back to the ground in winter. Slow to emerge in the spring. Works well as a ground cover. Can be interplanted with spring bulbs. Drought tolerant. Divide rhizomes in spring when growth starts or in fall. Deer resistant.
