NARRATIVE Easy to grow. Stems and leaves are a pale green-gray color all growing season. Leaves are soft and provide a nice background to shorter, thicker-leaved, foreground plants. Dies back in late fall. Found along roadsides, one might consider it a native. Survived on its own after being brought over from Europe and escaped ornamental gardens. Trim seed heads to mitigate free spreading.
